GOSHEN – A Blooming Grove man, who was driving with a revoked license and who had previous DWI convictions, was found guilty following a six-day bench trial in Orange County Court of felony DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

It was alleged that on July 12, 2023, a deputy sheriff was seeking to serve civil papers at the Clover Stables horse farm in New Windsor when she encountered James Cassidy, 50, driving up the driveway.

After a brief conversation, the deputy noticed he had displayed tell-tale signs of intoxication. He admitted having been drinking and was coming from Montgomery.

Cassidy failed several field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a breath test.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in June.
