MIDDLETOWN- The SUNY Orange Foundation proudly welcomes Adam McCarey as the new Chair of the SUNY Orange Foundation Board of Directors, effective immediately. McCarey, a 1996 SUNY Orange graduate, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this role, having already demonstrated a remarkable commitment to the College through his many years on the Foundation board.

McCarey’s love for Orange County Community College, as well as his professional background in policy and program development and government relations, uniquely positions him to lead the SUNY Orange Foundation in its mission to support and advance opportunities for students. Having been a SUNY Orange Foundation board member since 2017, McCarey is deeply familiar with the Foundation’s strategic initiatives and is poised to leverage his expertise for the benefit of the institution and its students.

“I am excited for the opportunity to serve as the Chair of the SUNY Orange Foundation and am eager to contribute to the success and growth of its mission to support and advance opportunities for students,” said McCarey. “SUNY Orange was the foundation for my educational and professional achievements, and I am honored to be in a role that allows me to support our students by ensuring they have access to the same opportunities I had. Education is one of the few things that cannot be lost or taken away, and should always be shared and given. I look forward to our collective efforts as a Board, in partnership with the College, to continue to help our students follow their dreams.”

In addition to his many accomplishments as a public safety professional and municipal leader, McCarey is a dedicated member of his community, actively leading and serving on various committees including the Otisville/Mount Hope Presbyterian Church Safety Committee and the SUNY Orange Foundation Alumni Committee. His commitment to service is reflected in his time as board member, and chair elect of the SUNY Orange Foundation, where he has been instrumental in managing approximately $20 million in assets dedicated to enhancing learning opportunities for students and the community.

As Board Chair, McCarey will lead the Foundation in its efforts to raise and distribute funds, build a strong alumni network, and foster lasting ties to the community. His vision and leadership will be instrumental in expanding opportunities and supporting the success of SUNY Orange students.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adam as the new Board Chair for the SUNY Orange Foundation,” said Dawn Ansbro, Executive Director of the SUNY Orange Foundation. “His commitment to SUNY Orange and his extensive experience in government relations make him an excellent choice to lead the Foundation. I look forward to working closely with Adam to support our students and continue the good work of the SUNY Orange Foundation.”
