STONE RIDGE- The Ulster BOCES Hudson Valley Pathways Academy (HVPA) will host an Open House on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Hasbrouck Hall on the SUNY Ulster campus, located at 491 Cottekill Road in Stone Ridge.

HVPA is a Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program. HVPA’s six-year pathway of study, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, enables students to earn both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree at no cost to them.

HVPA also provides students with customized career training. Students can select a concentration in either Network Administration/Computer Technology or Advanced Manufacturing for their studies.

During the Open House, prospective students will have the opportunity to tour the

facility and to meet with current HVPA young scholars and lead learners (instructors).

Incoming Grade 9 students from Ulster County school districts who enroll in HVPA will have the opportunity to attend the upcoming Ulster BOCES Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Camp this summer, at no charge. Campers will dive into math and science for five days in the state-of-the-art Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing Lab located at the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center in Port Ewen. During the immersive camp, they will engage in hands-on, project-based learning experiences and get a jumpstart on the coming school year. Campers will learn to use CAD software and explore the topics of conceptual and mechanical design; programming and coding literacy; physics; analysis and collaboration; and critical thinking.

If you are unable to attend the open house but are interested in learning about HVPA or other Ulster BOCES programs, please call 845-688-6117 to schedule a visit or check out the Ulster BOCES website at www.ulsterboces.org/HVPA.
