Beacon Police Department continues to lose officers

BEACON – The City of Beacon has lost another officer to a higher-paying police department, according to the PBA.  Former New York State Correction Officer Quaranta joined the Beacon Police Department in October 2023.  Five months into his Beacon career, Quaranta has left to join the New York State Police.

In a statement, the PBA said “Officer Quaranta’s decision was easily made due to the far superior salary and career opportunity presented to him.”
The officer’s departure marks the fourth officer to transfer out of the department in seven months.

Recent transfers include Police Officer Anzovino who left in August to join the Bradenton County Police Department in Florida, Police Officer Donovan who left in December to join the New Castle Police Department in Westchester, and Police Officer Goldfine who left earlier this month to join the Carmel Police Department.

“With each loss, we not only deplete our institutional knowledge but also weaken our ability to provide the level of protection our community deserves,” the PBA said, adding “We however shall remain vigilant in addressing this ongoing challenge, to ensure the safety of the community and our officers.”
