KINGSTON – Saying she has “zero tolerance for sexual harassment of any kind in the county government workplace,” Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger praised the county legislature for this week’s approval of her updates to the county’s sexual harassment policy.

Metzger said the policy updates “make clear that all genders are protected, and that sexual harassment does not need to be severe or pervasive to be illegal.”

The updates also include that sexual harassment can occur in the remote workplace and provides a new section on bystander intervention.

Legislature Chairman Peter Criswell said the revisions “are a positive step towards ensuring that all members of our county community feel safe and valued.”
