NEW YORK – Any hopes of Jet Blue returning to New York Stewart International Airport have been dashed as the New York-based airline said it will not be returning.

Service from the Hudson Valley airport was suspended since 2020, and now the airline said it will not resume service to Newburgh citing weak performance.

Stewart was one of the initial cities served when Jet Blue began service. US Senator Charles Schumer was credited with attracting the airline, which provided service to Florida destinations.

Jet Blue also said it would end some routes and make others seasonal. The airline said nine routes out of Los Angeles were among those cut, along with five routes linked to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

At present, Allegiant Air and Breeze Airways provide non-daily service to Florida cities from Stewart.
