KINGSTON – The Kingston Common Council voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint Bartek Starodog, director of the city’s housing initiatives office, as the Fair Housing Officer.

Alderman Steve Schabot praised Starodog’s work.

“He’s been acting in this capacity right along,” said Schabot, who represents the city’s eighth ward. “I think our move to make this an official decision for him demonstrates our continued commitment to the current housing crisis here in the city.”

Schabot said creating the position and appointing Starodog to it “says a lot for the administration to move these kinds of things forward. It gives a little more credibility, a little more viability.”
