TOWN OF NORTH EAST – The case against Fishkill Town Councilman John Forman, who was arrested by East Fishkill police in October and charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property, has been adjudicated. Because of personal and professional relationships, the case was prosecuted by an assistant district attorney from Columbia County and heard by a judge in the Town of North East in Dutchess County.

On Tuesday afternoon the case was “Adjourned in Contemplation of Dismissal” (ACD), according to Forman’s attorney, Anthony DeFazio.  “We are happy that this misunderstanding has been put behind us,” the defense counsel said.  Under the agreement, if Forman is not arrested in the next six months, the case against him will be dismissed.

Forman had been charged after collecting several signs that opposed his campaign for Fishkill town supervisor.  One of the signs had covertly been equipped with an “Air Tag” GPS tracking device placed by then-councilwoman Louise Daniele, an adversary of Forman’s.
