Jail inmate charged with drug possession and sale

KINGSTON – A Kingston man who has been incarcerated in the Ulster County Jail since July 2023 for a parole violation, was charged on February 21 with felony sale and possession of a controlled substance stemming from an investigation into heroin and fentanyl sales in the Kingston area in May.

Following investigation by the URGENT task force, Jamell Schleede, 38, was indicted on drug charges by a grand jury in December 2023 and this February was additionally charged with the drug crimes.

He is scheduled to appear in Ulster County Court to face the new charges in March.
