MONTICELLO – Mayor George Nikolados and his two Monticello village trustee running mates will be on the ballot for the March 19 elections.

Nikolados and trustee running mates Michael Banks and Carmen Rue were denied ballot access because their Democratic Party petitions were ruled invalid by the Sullivan County Board of Elections.

Since then, the three filed petitions to appear on the general election ballot as independents and the county board approved them.

Trustee Rochelle Massey, who filed valid petitions to run for mayor, will now face off against the incumbent.
