Three arrested on deadbeat parent warrants

MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people on family court warrants for child support violations.

The so-called deadbeat parents include Melissa Lynch, 36, arrested on February 15 at her residence in Swan Lake. She owes $2,500.00 in child support. The suspect ran from deputies to avoid apprehension and was caught a short time later. 

Lynch was sent to the Sullivan County Jail pending future court appearances.

Kenneth Sanders, 52, of Monticello was arrested on February 20 when he appeared at family court. He owes $7,874.95 in child support. He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail for six months.

  Zachary Mapes, 24, of Monticello was arrested on February 20 when he voluntarily surrendered at the sheriff’s office.

He owes $8,092.64 in child support and was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail for 30 days.

He also has an Ulster County Family Court warrant for similar charges pending when he is released.
