GOSHEN – The Orange County Partnership is setting its sights in the new year on attracting advanced manufacturing semiconductor and supply chain businesses.

To that end, Partnership President Maureen Halahan will be attending a symposium in San Francisco this coming weekend.

“We have fabulous relationships with site selectors all over the country but we don’t yet have a bonded relationship with companies in advanced manufacturing and supply chain, and that’s what we are going after in 2024,” she said. “We have some sites that can accommodate it. We don’t know exactly what we are going to expect but we know the guest list, we know our targets and we know what we plan on doing when we get out there.”

Halahan said while Dutchess and Ulster counties have iParks where IBM was once located, Orange County has its own benefits to attract global technology manufacturers.

“Leveraging the success of Micron and similar New York State projects, we think Orange County can play a significant role in the manufacturing supply chain,” said  Partnership Senior Development Officer Conor Eckert, who will also be attending the West Coast conference.
