Heavy rains cause flooding conditions

Heavy rains that began overnight and are continuing today are causing hazardous conditions with many areas flooding.

Police in Highland Falls are evacuating the Weyant Green Apartments at 40 West Point Highway due to severe flooding.

In New Windsor, the Paradise Mobile Home Park on Route 9W was being evacuated by the Vails Gate Fire Department due to severe flooding conditions.

Areas of Ulster County, including Saugerties have flooding conditions.

The Beaver Kill at Cooks Falls is affecting Sullivan and Delaware counties where flooding may occur this afternoon and tomorrow morning, the National Weather Service is advising.

In Rockland County, Route 303 in the Congers, Clarkstown and Orangetown areas are flooded, county officials said.

The Palisades Interstate Parkway southbound from the Bear Mountain Circle, exit 14 in both directions, and exit 14 to Long Mountain Circle are all reported flooded and closed as of 7 a.m.

Route 202 in both directtions at Lake Road is also flooded, Rockland officials said.

As of 7:45 a.m., in the Town of New Windsor, Little Britain Road (Route 207) between Weather Oak Hill Road and Moores Hill Road and Windsor Highway (Route 32) between Windsor Square Drive and Willow Lane are closed in both directions. Route 9w between Blooming Grove Turnpike to Caesars Lane is closed Southbound.
