CLAVERACK- In a set of close races for the Claverack Town Board, Republicans Gene Hallenbeck and George Duntz secured tight victories over their Democratic opponents Selha Graham and Tracy Hennige.

Stephanie Sussman, Claverack Democratic Party chair, said, “While we are disappointed in the results of the election, the voters have spoken. The results of the election show that Selha Graham and Tracy Hennige’s message clearly resonated with voters.  While the number of votes fell short, they were successful in changing the conversation.”

For their part, Graham and Hennige expressed their gratitude to the volunteers in a joint statement. “Thank you so much to our campaign team and all the volunteers and supporters who offered their time, guidance, money, and encouragement.  It was a true team effort, and we are grateful.”
