Dan McRitchie is scheduled to open for Valby when the show is rescheduled.

POUGHKEEPSIE – The much-anticipated return of  “Dr. Dirty” John Valby to the historic Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie on September 22, 2023, has been postponed.  The show was scheduled to have Hudson Valley funnyman Dan McRitchie as the opening act for Valby.

According to McRitchie, the show has been postponed because Valby is currently suffering from an illness.  A source has told Mid-Hudson News that Valby became ill after a spinster attempted to wash the musician’s mouth out with soap after she accidentally attended a show where Valby performed “Everybody Hates Trump”.  Due to HIPAA guidelines, Mid-Hudson News has not been able to determine the validity of the soapy diagnosis.

The historic Chance Theater has recently been sold to a real estate investor and will likely be closing at the end of October.

According to Valby’s website, Valby has recorded and produced over 30 CDs & LPs with titles including titles Dirt, Sit on a Happy Face, Give Me Dirt or Give Me Death, Operation F Iraq, and many other titles that cannot be printed.  The classically-trained pianist does have albums free of references to genitalia and intercourse, including a Christmas CD.

Valby, the 78-year-old father of several children lives with his wife in the Western New York town of Clarence.
