SOUTH FALLSBURG- Rolling V begins their 34th school year with investments in new equipment.  As part of the Rolling V annual fleet upgrade program, they took delivery of nine International gasoline powered school buses, two high-capacity wheel chair lift equipped buses, and six Microbird gasoline powered school vans.  The vehicles were purchased from local, family-owned dealerships in Hudson Valley and the Catskills, and will be deployed in several of the school districts served by Rolling V.

While there is lots of conversation regarding electric school buses, the team at Rolling V is waiting for the technology to mature and an equitable funding mechanism put in place before acquiring the equipment.  In the meantime, the new Rolling V buses are low emission and a great economic alternative to electric buses.  All buses are equipped with child check mate systems, and updated GPS systems.  In addition to the fleet upgrades, Rolling V continues to provide free CDL training and employee opportunities for qualified applicants in the region.

“The investment in this year’s purchases exceeds $2,000,000, and furthers Rolling V’s is commitment to providing the most up to date equipment for the communities we serve,” said Nick Vallone, Executive Vice President.
