OTISVILLE- Fall is just around the corner!  Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County provides the perfect kickoff to fall festivities with its eight annual Bountiful Harvest Celebration, on Friday, September 29, 2023,  from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The celebration will feature an evening of good old-fashioned fun at CCEOC’s Education Center and 4-H Park  in Otisville.  This year’s Bountiful Harvest is celebrating all things Autumn in Orange County. Festivities include a seasonal farm-to-table dinner from locally sourced favorites prepared by Country Courtesy Catering, a signature cocktail created by Pennings Cidery, and is highlighted by the main event – a celebrity cow-milking  contest.

As part of the autumn evening celebration, local celebrity cow milkers representing accounting firms from across Orange County will compete in a friendly “Cow-milking Challenge.”  The celebrities will have three minutes to showcase their cow-milking skills.  All three celebrities are also collecting donations for CCEOC in a friendly “wagering” of pledges that accompany the contest to raise the stakes as we approach the date.  Celebrity milkers include:  Mark Levy of Nugent & Hauseller, P.C., Bonnie Orr of PKF O’Connor & Davies, and  Michael Turturro of RBT.  Cows for the milking contest are generously provided by Chris Van Aken, of Van Aken Dairy, in New Hampton, NY, along with milking tutorials to help prepare the contestants for the event.

“The goal of our unique fundraising event is to get the Orange County community involved with local agriculture and to educate residents about the numerous types of farming; all of which are taking place in their own backyards.  We are delighted to have Country Courtesy prepare this year’s farm-to-table dinner with local products as well as to partner with local accounting firms for our cow milking contest!” said Lucy Joyce, Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County.

All proceeds from the event will support the continued development of the Education Center & 4-H Park  located at 300 Finchville Turnpike, Otisville, New York.

Tickets are $150/person or $1,000/table of eight.  To reserve tickets or for sponsorship opportunities, click HERE.
