Port Jervis police identify stabbing victim

A stabbing took place in the overnight hours of July 11, 2023, at Jersey and Pennsylvania Avenues. One person has died, and two have been injured.

PORT JERVIS- Port Jervis police have released the name of the stabbing victim that was killed on Jersey Avenue in the city’s Fourth Ward in the early morning hours of July 12th.  The incident involved two large groups of people, and resulted in three stabbing victims.

Destin Rabess, age 18, of Montgomery was brought to Bon Secours Community Hospital along with two other patients with stab wounds.  Rabess was pronounced dead.

A 17 year-old man from Walden suffered stab wounds as well, and was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he remains in critical but stable condition.  A 16 year-old man, also from Walden, was also treated at the hospital and released.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
