BALMVILLE – Who killed Yvonne Torch on June 9, 2004 in her Town of Newburgh hair salon remains a mystery, but State Police are continuing to investigate.
The 32-year-old stylist was found brutally murdered in her shop on Route 9W in the Balmville area of the Town of Newburgh in the mid-morning hours.
Torch had finished styling one client and when her next appointment came into her shop, she was found murdered.
Investigators have chased down leads as far away as the state of Florida and have looked into hundreds of tips around the region.
Advances in DNA were hoped to point police in the direction of the killer, but none has surfaced to this point.
