Westchester DA cracks down on recent string of robberies and burglaries

WHITE PLAINS – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah on Thursday announced a crackdown on burglaries and robberies across the county that included alleged break-ins and thefts at homes and local businesses.

Yonkers Police arrested Damien Anthony Arias on February 12 for allegedly stealing 43 pairs of sneakers valued at over $1,100 from Burlington Coat Factory. On April 12, he was charged with 24 counts for allegedly stealing merchandise from Marshalls valued at over $17,000 over 13 occasions in January and February.

He also faces two bench warrants in Yonkers for other burglary charges.

Mount Vernon Police arrested Nathaniel Gordon, 65, of Mount Vernon, in January for allegedly breaking into two local homes – one home twice on the same day – and stealing three laptops, cooking pots and a tool bag.

New Rochelle Police arrested a Suffolk County man, Michael Bagley, 32, of Coram, for allegedly robbing and assaulting an employee of a downtown New Rochelle business, fleeing on foot into a residential neighborhood where he robbed a victim on the street, and then breaking into a residence occupied by a homeowner and child.

Sleepy Hollow Police arrested two Queens men, William Sierra-Galeano, 57, and Cristian Eduardo Espinosa-Silva, 26, on March 16 for a residential burglary in Spey Hollow where they allegedly stole some $40,000 in cash and $20,000 in jewelry.

That followed their arrest by Dobbs Ferry Police on March 15, along with a third Queens man, Manuel Marin-Jimenez, 42, for a residential burglary where they allegedly stole cash, jewelry and handbags valued at $25,000.

Harrison and North Castle Police arrested three men, Oscar Dario Nino Franco, 42, Andres Felipe Albarracin Rodriguez, 34, and Jonathan Alejandro Cogua Osuna, 40, for allegedly using force to enter a North Castle home and stealing $4,000 in coins. They were all charged with burglary.

Yorktown Police arrested two New York City residents, Shayolanda Lewis-Major, 24, and Dasani Mack, 21, for allegedly stealing merchandise valued at over $5,000 from Ulta Beauty in the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights.

New Rochelle Police arrested two local residents, Brandon Scott, 18, and a juvenile, in connection with several robberies in the West End area of New Rochelle.
