COLD SPRING – US Senator Charles Schumer says current assistance to firefighter grants are at risk of getting the ax this year so he is introducing the Fire Grants and Safety Act of 2023 by the end of the month, which said would save the programs that have provided $23 million to Hudson Valley firefighters in the past three years.
The Senate majority leader said the current programs are lifelines for the departments that “we can’t let go up in smoke.”
