NEWBURGH – Thirty-five-year-old James Rich was arraigned on the charge of murder for his role in the death of 76-year-old George Harding on Thursday night. City of Newburgh police responded to a 911 call Thursday night at the Varick Peterson Homes complex on South Street and discovered the victim, Mr. Harding, deceased with obvious signs of trauma.
The police were assisted in the murder investigation by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
