NEWBURGH – Gidney Avenue between Hudson View Terrace and Mandingo Place is closed to vehicular traffic after a sinkhole was discovered in the street in front of 153 Gidney Avenue, according to city officials. The announcement was made in the afternoon of Thursday, March 16th.
Motorists are reminded to pay attention and follow all traffic detour signs, flaggers, and construction vehicles in the area of the sinkhole.
Those using the closed route should allow for extra time to account for detours and construction delays.
