Kingston school district secures $3.2 million for security upgrades

KINGSTON – The state has awarded the Kingston City School District $3.2 million for high-tech security upgrades.

Funding is coming from the state’s Smart Schools Bond Act.

Schools Superintendent Dr. Paul Padalino could not be reached for comment concerning detailed uses for the funding.

The Pine Bush Central School District will receive just under $2.1 million from the same program. Over $546,000 will be used for school connectivity and $1.5 million will be applied to high-tech security.

The Cornwall Central School District will receive just under $1 million for classroom technology.

The South Orangetown Central School District will receive $1 million for school connectivity.
