Man jumps off Bear Mountain Bridge

CORTLANDT – A 62-year-old New Jersey man jumped off the Bear Mountain Bridge on Sunday, State Police reported on Tuesday.

They said investigation determined Ronald Welte, Jr. of Midland Park left his vehicle and jumped from the bridge over the Hudson River.

The investigation is continuing and police said there are no signs of foul play detected.

Police did not say if a body was recovered.
