Fallsburg man who was stabbed by grandson arrested for gun possession

MONTICELLO – A Town of Fallsburg man who was stabbed by his grandson back in  December, has been arrested on charges of illegal weapons possession.

On December 16, 2022, sheriff’s deputies arrested Supreme Faison, 24, for stabbing his grandfather Robert Gibbs, 69, at the grandfather’s residence in the Town of Fallsburg.

The victim of the attack drove himself to the Garnet Health Urgent Care facility on Concorde Road in Lake Kiamesha, where he was transferred by ambulance to the hospital.

While investigating the incident, detectives recovered a loaded handgun from Gibbs’ vehicle which was parked in the lot at the Urgent Care.

While examining the scene of the stabbing, detectives also recovered two long guns from Gibbs’ residence. The handgun and one of the long guns were reported stolen to the State Police in the 1980’s.

Gibbs has a previous felony conviction, which prohibits him from possessing any guns.

He was arrested on January 24, charged with the felonies of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a loaded weapon, arraigned and released on a $5,000 bond pending a future court appearance.
