Former West Point staff sergeant sentenced for possession of child porn

WHITE PLAINS – A former West Point staff sergeant has been sentenced in federal court to 3 ½ years in prison for his possession of child pornography.

Patrick Edwin Gorychka, 40, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, was also sentenced to five years of supervised release.

In imposing the sentence, US District Judge Kenneth Karas said, “The possession of child pornography feeds a business that exploits the most vulnerable in our society.”

Agencies involved in the investigation included the FBI, West Point’s Criminal Investigation Division, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Town of New Windsor Police.
