Fire claims life of senior citizen

SOMERS – Fire in a residence on Barlow Court in the Town of Somers claimed the life of a 72-year-old man, State Police said.

The fire broke out on December 26.

Somers Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services discovered the sole occupant, Richard Jordan, dead inside.

The investigation remains open, but troopers said there is no evidence of suspicious activity found at this time.
