PLEASANT VALLEY – Town Supervisor John DelVecchio called the parade float in Saturday night’s “Festival of Lights” event in the center of town “disgusting.”  A tractor-trailer owned by Snow Fountain Supply was adorned with a large flag that said “FUCK BIDEN” as it passed hundreds of children and their families gathered along the route.

Several attendees took to social media and contacted Mid-Hudson News complaining about the float.  Pleasant Valley business owner Dan McRitchie brought his family, including his young daughter to the parade. “It’s unfortunate that this particular float was assigned a number for judging purposes, knowing that a flag with vulgar language was allowed to participate in the parade, letting hundreds of children see it.”

“It is a disgrace that an event for children is marred and diminished into the political sewer,” DelVecchio told Mid-Hudson News.  The first-term supervisor is also calling for the trucking company to be punished.  “The person who had that sign on the back of their truck should be banned from any involvement in any future events in Pleasant Valley.”

Mr. DelVecchio, who noted that he was not involved in the planning of the festival, called for changes to the planning committee.  “The organizers of the event need to be stripped of the responsibility of this event,” he said, adding “This lack of attention to detail is irresponsible and is clearly a setup to kick off the onset of the upcoming political season.”
