TILLSON – Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Kingston man on a charge of driving while intoxicated and other offenses after he flew by a traffic stop and almost struck a patrol vehicle and deputy.

Jalen Allen, 29, was also charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment in connection with the incident on Route 32 in Tillson at around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 12.

Deputies said while they were interviewing a driver of a car at a traffic stop, Allen passed the investigation at a high rate of speed without regard for the emergency vehicle with emergency lights on, and almost struck the vehicle and deputy.

Allen’s car was stopped on Route 32 near the Rosendale Recreation Center.

Allen was released with an appearance ticket returnable to town court at a later date.
