Weapons and menacing arrest in Port Jervis

PORT JERVIS – A 36-year-old Port Jervis man is being held in the Orange County Jail on charges stemming from a menacing incident last summer.

Butchie Middleton was arrested on Monday and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor for menacing.

On July 22, Port Jervis officers responded to a disturbance on Brooklyn Street in the city where it was alleged that Middleton menacing another individual with a handgun and fled the scene.

Officers located a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol at the location during the time of the incident.

The case is being prosecuted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
