MONTICELLO – Fire heavily damaged a building at 51 Waverly Avenue in the Village of Monticello late Wednesday afternoon.
A 911 call came to the Monticello Police Department around 4 p.m. for a fire in an abandoned building at a former junkyard.
The building was completely engulfed in flames.
Firefighters brought it under control in about 30 minutes with the help of the Rock Hill Fire Department.
The blaze is under investigation by the Monticello Police Department and Sullivan County Bureau of Fire investigators.
Assisting at the scene were the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and State DEC Police.
No injuries were reported.
