Dear Editor:

In August, more than 5000 New York residents switched their driver‘s licenses to the state of Florida. Since January 1, that number exceeds 41,000 New Yorkers. Many businesses and employers have followed suit. I wonder why

Since Democrats took over the state senate in 2018, the woke ideologues who have come to dominate that party have enacted soft-on-crime laws, such as bail reform, that have made our communities less safe. With judges stripped of making bailsetting decisions for all but the most violent offenses, people who commit crimes are now free to walk around, as you and I do and repeat their offenses. Most larcenies have been decriminalized leading to smash and grabthefts in our retail stores

To top it off, the Parole Board (whose members are appointed by Governors Cuomo and Hochul), has released 35 copkillers in the past 5 years. What happened to life without parole for convicted murderers

In order to save New York for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren, we need to elect new leaders in Albany this November. One such candidate is Mayor Rob Rolison who is running for state senate in the 39th district. As mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie since 2015, Rolison has invested in a police retention program that won a statewide award from the New York Conference of Mayors. He increased the salaries of the men and women in blue and re-instated Community Policing and the placement of school resource officers in Poughkeepsies schools

As a retired detective from the Town of Poughkeepsie police department with over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Mayor Rolison understands how to keep our communities safe

Elect Rob Rolison state senator in the 39th district on November 9th!
