STONY POINT – A 63-year-old Colonial Beach, Virginia man was killed when his vehicle left the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway, entered the center median and struck a tree.
The driver and sole occupant of the 2017 Ford Escape, Marc Fitzsimmons, was extricated and transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
State Police at the Haverstraw barracks said the accident occurred around 9 p.m. on Tuesday August 23.
Troopers are asking anyone who may have seen a gray or silver Ford Escape with Virginia license plates traveling on the parkway prior to the crash to call Senior Investigator Carmen Goffredo at 845-364-9424.
