Cops take six guns off the street in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – City of Newburgh Police and State Police have recovered six illegally possessed handguns in the area of 104 William Street and arrested three local residents on charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

Arrested were Davon Waddell, 24, Aljean Cromartie, 20, and Palmis Byrd, 28, all of Newburgh.

Seized were a Smith and Wesson .38 cal. revolver, a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a defaced 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol, a 9 mm Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol, a Phoenix Arms .22 semi-automatic pistol, and a Polytechnologies P80 9 mm semi-automatic pistol.

Police also seized a large quantity of cash and illegally possessed narcotics. The suspects were also charged with those offenses.
