Hudson Valley unemployment rate continues decline in June

ALBANY – The June 2022 unemployment rate for the Hudson Valley region is 3.1 percent.  That is up from 2.9 percent in May 2022 and down from 5.1 percent in June 2021, the State Labor Department reports. 

In June 2022, there were 36,400 unemployed in the region, up from 33,300 in May 2022 and down from 58,300 in June 2021.  Year-over-year in June 2022, labor force increased by 26,700 or 2.3 percent, to 1,177,900.

The lowest rate of joblessness in the greater region in June was recorded in Columbia County, at 2.6 percent. The highest rate was in Delaware County at 3.5 percent.
