Haverstraw man arrested for murder of Spring Valley man

SPRING VALLEY – Police have arrested a 23-year-old Haverstraw man for the July 8 shooting death of a Spring Valley man.

Treynahel Cineus, 17, was found in the parking lot of 150 West Eckerson Road at 2:30 a.m. on July 8. He died after being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.

At about 11 p.m., on Thursday, July 21, Spring Valley detectives with the help of other law enforcement agencies, arrested Anthony Mitchell, 23, on a murder charge. He was arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail.

Assisting Spring Valley Police in the investigation were Haverstraw Town Police, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Rockland District Attorney’s Office, the FBI, Rockland County R.E.A.C.T., Rockland Intelligence Unit, State Police and Orange County Special Operations Group.
