WESTCHESTER COUNTY – An emergency dispatcher with the Westchester County Department of Emergency Response helped deliver a baby girl on Sunday morning.  This is the second baby that Dispatcher Alexander Dennett Sr. has helped to deliver from his communication desk.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 26th, Dennett took a phone call from a frantic husband reporting his wife was in labor in New Rochelle. Dennett was able to guide the father in delivering the baby within two minutes of taking the 911 call.
While Dennett was assisting the father, dispatcher Joseph Pagano dispatched New Rochelle Fire Department and Empress EMS to the scene.
New Rochelle firefighters from Engine Company 25 were first to arrive and assumed care for the mother and her newborn daughter until passing care off to the ambulance personnel.
Dennett, who was the 2021 Emergency Communications Center (ECC) “Operator of the Year,” has received a number of awards for his excellence as a part of the emergency response team.
