BUCHANAN – A Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection of the permanently shut down Indian Point nuclear power plant has found “no violations of more than minor significance.”

That was the finding following an on-site inspection performed from April 25 through May 5.

“The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security and compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s rules and regulations and with the conditions of your licenses,” wrote Daniel Schroeder, chief of Security, Emergency Preparedness and Incident response Branch in the NRC in a May 25 letter to Holtec officials.
