City of Newburgh man arrested for DWI and grand larceny

NEWBURGH – A 28-year-old City of Newburgh man was arrested at 4:45 in the morning on April 30 for a vehicle and traffic violation.

State Police from the Montgomery barracks stopped Nicholas Palm, 28, for driving while impaired by alcohol and driving while intoxicated.

During Palm’s arrest, police learned he was under investigation for several fraudulent charges at numerous branches of Hudson Valley Credit Union.

He had made several withdrawals and purchases from his account from February to March.

The deposits he made were fraudulent which resulted in a loss of over $14,800 to the credit union.

As a result, he was charged with grand larceny.

He was remanded to the Orange County Jail pending arraignment.
