NEWBURGH – Over $1.2 million has been awarded for Head Start programs in Orange County, Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney announced.

“This funding is crucial to continue our mission of providing high quality education and services to children and families in Newburgh and Eastern Orange County,” said Janett Rodriguez, executive director of Head Start of Eastern Orange County.

“Head Start programs focus on school readiness skills, by providing holistic comprehensive support for health, education, nutrition, and parental involvement that leads to greater economic sufficiency and helps to close achievement gaps,” he said.

“Every child deserves a good education and strong foundation for success,” said Maloney.
