Fire guts vacant Newburgh building

NEWBURGH – Firefighters from several area departments assisted Newburgh city firemen as they battled a blaze in a vacant building at 11 South Miller Street on Saturday.

Mayor Torrance Harvey, who was on the scene, said the city’s codes department continues to crack down on those vacant structures.

There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
