KINGSTON – The State Public Service Commission received over 1,000 formal complaints in 48 hours after Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan urged residents impacted by whopping Central Hudson billing errors following implementation of a new customer information system. He encouraged additional residents with billing issues to file complaints, so the PSC sees “the full scope of the situation.”

In response to Ryan’s formal request for an investigation, the PSC opened matter number 22-00666 to investigate problems with Central Hudson’s bill practices.

The Department of Public Service is also investigating Central Hudson’s winter storm response (matter number 22-00497) and an audit into the utility’s bill practices (matter number 21-M-0541).

Persons who have not yet filed complains may do so through the  online form.
