POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Drug Task Force (DCDTF) has established a new tip line for the public to use to provide confidential information on drug activity in  Dutchess County.  The DCDTF investigates suspects responsible for drug sales in Dutchess County.

Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati told Mid-Hudson News “There are several upgrades coming to the way investigations are conducted that involve multiple agencies.  The most basic, and long overdue, is the establishment of a confidential phone number and email account for anonymous tips involving drug sales.”  The 30-year-veteran of law enforcement added “Our department, working with our partnering agencies, are constantly adapting to keep drugs out of the community.”

According to Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, the county had more than 105 deaths directly related to drug overdoses and the DCDTF investigators are “working tirelessly to investigate the subjects that sell drugs that are responsible for the overdose deaths.”

“We encourage people to use our new confidential tip line to provide information about those subjects selling illegal drugs.”  The confidential tip line phone number is 845-463-6040.  The DCDTF also accepts confidential tips via email sent to DrugTaskForceTips@gmail.com.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force currently consists of investigators from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and representatives from the City of Beacon, Town of Hyde Park, Town of East Fishkill Police, City of Poughkeepsie, and the Town of Poughkeepsie police departments.
