TOWN OF CLINTON – New York State Troopers and local police are involved in a Tuesday evening search for two suspects in a homicide.  The area of Schultzville Road has a large police presence.

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on March 1, Troopers were involved in a high-speed chase of the suspects’ vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway.  As the vehicle approached the intersection of Willow Lane, spike strips, known as “Stingers” were deployed in an attempt to slow the vehicle that was traveling at speeds of approximately 110 MPH.

After striking the stingers, which flattened the tires, the vehicle reportedly stopped in the vicinity of Schultzville Road on the Taconic State Parkway.  The subjects exited the vehicle and a foot pursuit was begun.

A command center with representatives from the New York State Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has been established in the area.

The individuals are reported to be in possession of firearms used in the earlier homicide and are considered “armed and dangerous”.

Law enforcement from several agencies are searching the area of 567 Schultzville Road as of 5:44 p.m.

Dutchess County Deputies are investigating a house at 511 Schultzville Road after noises were heard in the basement.

Additional units are in the area of 567 Schultzville Road.

At 5:45 p.m., a New York State Trooper reported that one subject was in custody.
