MILLERTON – The Millerton Fire Department was dispatched at 12;44 a.m. on Friday for a fire at 36 Scribner Road for a fire that destroyed a house.  The cause and origin of the blaze are under investigation,  according to Millerton Fire Chief Jason Watson.
Chief Watson was the first one on the scene roughly ten minutes after the initial dispatch and found the house “fully engulfed in flames,” he said. Watson immediately requested assistance from several Dutchess County fire departments as well as the Sharon and Lakeville, Connecticut departments.
The chief said the fire was under control at approximately 1:13 a.m. with no injuries to civilians or the more than 40 first responders who assisted.
“The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office,” Watson added.
