Update… Body of bridge jumper recovered

BEACON – The body of a man who jumped to his death from the north span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Wednesday morning, has been recovered, according to State Police.

The Newburgh fireboat was launched and the victim was located in the Hudson River a short time later.

He was brought to the Beacon side of the river and turned over to authorities.

Sources close to the investigation say that the man is described as being between 50 and 60 years of age.

No additional information was available.
