KINGSTON – Tech City, the expansive former IBM property in the Town of Ulster, is moving closer to being sold to a private developer.

The county legislature’s Laws and Rules Committee Monday evening was briefed on the process to transfer the property to National Resources, said Chairwoman Tracy Bartels.

“The properties would move from the current property owner to the county, and the county would then transfer the properties to UCEDA, the Ulster County Economic Development Alliance, and then UCEDA would transfer the property to the developer with a purchase-sale agreement,” she said.

Lawmakers will meet tonight to move the process forward.

The proposed new owner plans to brand the property iPark 87 and attract commercial tenants, much the same as it is doing in its iPark84 property at the former IBM facilities in East Fishkill.
