HAVERSTRAW – Town of Haverstraw Police are investigating a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian who was crossing Route 9W in the area of Fairmount Avenue at about 4:47 a.m. on Tuesday.
The vehicle involved was last seen traveling north on Route 9W from New Main Street.
It is described as a silver or white Ford Explorer with dark rims, a moonroof, and should be missing the passenger side mirror and have damage to the front passenger side bumper.
