BETHEL – A destination for tech industry people to work in peace and tranquility has been approved and will be constructed in the Town of Bethel.

The so-called rural tech retreat will be available for companies to provide a quiet country setting for the developers to do their jobs, said Marc Baez, president of the Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development.

“It is a destination where folks who are in the tech industry can go work on projects in a very bucolic setting up here in the Catskills, which we are known for, and they are able to come in and do projects they are working on in the tech industry and they do that over a period of time while enjoying the spaces here in Sullivan County. It is something in their eyes promotes a lot of creativity and productivity in the work they need to create,” he said.

The facilities will be open initially to software tech companies.
